WINSOME was born in Clarendon, Jamaica; she started singing in the church at the early age of four and very soon became a leader in her chosen field to sing. Her love for music was unusual, and the church gave her the preparation she needed. She made it her stage and this is where she is most happy.
In 1994 she migrated to Germany where she began singing as a professional. She began touring extensively in Germany, places such as Kiel, Hamburg, Travemuende, Bremen, Muenster, Hannover, Berlin, Dresden, Leipzig, Bielefeld, Kassel, Dortmund, Essen, Gelsenkirchen, Duesseldorf, Cologne, Frankfurt, Trier, Saarbruecken, Baden Baden and many other european countries like Sweden, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, has also discovered her magnificent talent and flooded all her performances, she also appeared on many TV and Radio shows.
Her charisma touched everyone who has come into her presence. In 1997 she produced and released her first gospel album entitled "Live for Jesus“. Her hit single "My Sweet Lord was produced and release in 2000 by Desi Jones, former drummer of "Chalice “, this was a cover version written by George Harrison of “The Beatles”. "Bring The Family Back“and "Give It Up For Jesus“was released in 2002.
Winsome was a major performer in 2000 on the "Gospel Train" which was promoted by Mr. Tommy Cowan of Glory Music. There she shared stage with some of Jamaica's finest in gospel.
She is a Singer/Song Writer and arranges her songs, she also enjoys speaking the German Language. Her repertoire includes Gospel, Inspirational, Soul and Love songs. She is very dedicated to her occupation and is presently working on her new album.
Winsome has shared stage with artistes such as Inner Circle, Hip Hop Bobby Valentino, Lady G, Doug E Fresh , Alaine, Bad Gal Cecile, Machel Mantano, Daville, Chevelle Franklyn, Calypso Rose, BB Seaton, Leon and the People, Ken Boothe, Ernie Smith, Junior Tucker, Papa San, John Holt, Lt. Stichie, Ken Lazarus, Pam Hall, Peter Lloyd, Leroy Sibbles, Dwight Pinkney, Hopeton Lewis, Mickey Spice, Boris Gardener, A.J. Brown, Karen Smith, Dean Frazer, Buju Banton, just to name a few.
Winsome Benjamin now managed by Clifs Enterprise Corp is peaking in her career, Performing in Canada, The Cayman Island, Guyana, and in the U.S.A. She recently performed with Mr.”Knocking on Heavens Door” Ed Robinson on the International Reggae and World Music Awards at the World famous Apollo Theater Harlem, USA. She also performed in Chicago at the Festival of Life July 4-8 at Washington Park and was blessed with presents of Pop Star R&B singer R. Kelly.
Her single "TRUE LOVE" has being recently released, accompanied by the music video for the same single featuring Ed Robinson. The single is making quite an impact on the Air waves in the United States of America and other parts of the world; it can be purchased at www.cdbaby.com along with the Ringtone.
